Leafymade is all about making disposable consumer products out of natural materials and therefore biodegradable. Our goal is providing a sustainable solutions to disposable plastic and paper. Yes, all our leaf products are for sure in complete harmony with nature!
We are a team that is driven not only to reduce the footprint of humans leaving on the environment but also to improve the ecological balance as per sustainable development goals. We also strive to make a positive impact on the lives of tribal people especially women from the Indian rain forest in the state of Odisha. They are involved in the production of our leaf plates, bowl and dip bowls. The core soul of Leafymade is the tribal women and their communities. Our prime goal is the pursuit of social and economic improvement for the tribal people that have been traditionally producing products like leaf plates. These tribal women have lost their business due to fierce competition from industrially produced cheap disposable paper and plastic. They used to be exploited by middle men and paid unfair prices for the leaf products. Our work with a local NGO and the local government helps us to revive these cottage industries and offer them exposure to international markets.
Leafymade´s responsibility is to provide them modern machineries, technical know-how and improve the existing infrastructure and general well-being of the people involved in this project. As a company, our parameter of success is not the amount of revenue we generate rather the number of lives we have touched in a positive way. We understand that our efforts may be too small to bring a significant change. But we believe with combined efforts of all the people who care for the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030 of the United Nations), we can definitely leave a positive mark in this world. We invite you to be a part of our journey! Follow us on this blog to get regular updates of what is being done with the revenue that we generate when you buy our products.
