Leafymade provides one-time use tablewares that substitute conventional petroleum, and paper-based products for fully biodegradable products made from leaves.
In Sweden alone, over 6 billion units of paper and plastic disposables are used for plates, cups, and take-away boxes.
Our flagship products are leaf plates, the first of its kind in the Nordics, and they go back to nature, leaving nothing behind. They are socially and environmentally friendly alternative to what is available today.
At Leafymade, we value social entrepreneurship and we want to make a positive impact on the lives of indigenous tribal women in India who work on the production of our products.
At present, 200 women are involved in the sourcing and production, with a new source of income, a better work environment, and growing self-confidence. Read more here.
Today, as demand continues to grow, Swedish consumers are able to buy our products in a couple of retail stores with ICA, Coop and through-out the network of our newest partner Lagerhaus.
However, if we are to meet the increasing demand in the Nordic countries, we need to scale up our production, operation and increase our social reach-out program to many more tribal women.
So, with a great year behind us in 2019 where we established our product, achieved a proof of concept and started to generate revenue – we are forecasting an even better 2020 with your help and support.
To help Leafymade achieve its goals, we are now looking for external funding through the equity crowdfunding campaign platform FundedByMe.
Using equity crowdfunding helps us raise money by selling shares in our private company, allowing investors to become stakeholders in the success of Leafymade.
Equity crowdfunding platforms have helped democratize the investment process by opening the door to a larger pool of potential investors i.e. “the crowd” to get on the ground floor of the “next big idea”.
By using the FundedByMe platform, Leafymade hopes to create brand ambassadors who share a common vision and want to actively contribute towards sustainable development goals.
Also, for Leafymade, equity crowdfunding is not just about the money, but what investors can bring to us as a company in terms of their own knowledge, networks, and expertise that we can benefit from.
Investing in start-ups has its risks, but getting in early and investing in Leafymade means an opportunity to earn a higher return along with enjoying the perks offered depending on your level of investment.
Our crowdfunding campaign begins on 30th January 2020 for lead investors, and a week later, we open it up on the platform to the general public – exciting stuff!
You can join us in the countdown to going live on FundedByMe, subscribe for email updates on Leafymade.
We believe the market of natural and biodegradable products will see exceptional growth in the next decade and the timing is right, now that plastic disposables are entering a prohibition phase.
Confident that the concept of eating on a Leaf won’t leave anytime soon, we’ve begun working on year-long contracts for the sake of production and delivery planning in the scale-up phase that 2020 will become.
As a young green startup there are plenty of great opportunities for cooperation, and if you want to know more about our offer on FundedByMe or talk about disposables – contact Meenu@leafymade.se
